Melissa & Joe Gorga Sell NJ Mansion for $2 5 Million

"My family and I have so many amazing memories in this house; Joe and I built and designed it from the ground up," Melissa said in a statement at the time. Despite picking the house to be further away from family, Melissa and Joe already seemed to be having some doubts about the move considering Teresa and Joe Giudice's legal troubles. Now, after lots of construction and some time in a rental, they're finally in a brand new house that they built from scratch — including a new exterior, which she unveiled on Instagram in June 2023. “Sometimes when I'm filling out my daughter's college schoolwork, it's like, ‘What's your profession? I ended up writing ‘entertainment business’ because in all types of ways I'm here to entertain. Whether it be talking on my podcast and having people entertained for 45 minutes listening to that or watching my reality show.

There was also a white marble wall to the side which featured a built-in fireplace and TV mounted into the wall. We also spotted two footstools, a white armchair, and a light gray credenza with a round-shaped mirror mounted above against the wall, presumably a vanity or getting-ready space. Additionally, when Melissa zoomed in, we got a view of some beautiful white cabinets with glass doors surrounding the stove. Ruelas added that Teresa's daughters care for him like he's family, sharing a sweet moment he had with Gabriella when her mom was out of town. "The girls embrace Louie, and it's beautiful," Teresa told PEOPLE.

Soon after, however, Instagram user Caley Svensson, of Park Ridge, New Jersey, reposted the image on her Instagram Story, claiming that the "after" photo was her house — and it had not been flipped by Joe. Melissa and Joe’s house looks a million times better, no doubt. It is funny that Melissa can’t just own the fact that she and Joe screwed up on the design of their home and needed to do a major overhaul with the help of a REAL architect. Clearly, Melissa couldn’t stand that her house was the laughing stock of the Bravoverse, and honestly, I can’t blame her because I’d be mortified as well. Melissa and Joe’s house looked horribly ugly before, but now it actually gives modern farmhouse vibes. The RHONJ couple moved into their Franklin Lakes home last November; however, less than two months later, they were renovating the exterior of their home.

“The upper-end economy is a much slimmer market than it used to be,” the realtor explained, adding that, with a price tag of $3.8 million, the Gorgas' house was one of only three above $3 million in Montville. Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock. The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in early 2023. Last Friday, as she shared pics of her and Antonia posing with piles of boxes, Melissa spoke of “new beginnings” at her new home. Melissa Gorga is showcasing her new home in a series of videos shared to her Instagram page.

"Little Louie hangs out with the girls all the time, they go out together. I treat him like he's my own, and of course, Nicholas, too." One thing that could add more stress to the Gorgas’ relationship is a cross-country move. The couple put their New Jersey mansion on the market a year ago and, should the right offer come along, Melissa says they’re entertaining a move to Los Angeles. Melissa says fans of RHONJ will get to see those struggles play out on season nine of the show. Pursuing her passions (the show and her store) has turned out to be a double-edged sword for the TV personality, who cops to feeling immense “mom guilt” when she’s not tending to her family. Unfortunately for Bravo fans, Melissa will most likely not be giving any follow-up tunes to her beloved classic dance single from over a decade ago, called "On Display."

Gorga, sister-in-law of resident antagonist Teresa Giudice, appeared briefly in season two and became a regular in season three, in 2011. Many fans of Gorga’s — aka Team Melissa — appreciate the show and what she, along with Joe and the kids, bring to it. "When the queen of reality TV wants Christmas lights….we light it up!!!" the caption said. This has to be one of the most organized closets I've ever seen. Organizing consultant and Netflix superstar Marie Kondo would be proud. You'd probably never expect to hear the words "minimalist" and "mansion" in the same sentence.

Melissa and Joe lived in an opulent Montville estate

Somehow, NJ housewife Melissa Gorga combined the two in her latest Franklin Lakes home. The billiard room’s wood paneling is now painted a stark black, and the color palette throughout was toned down. “Our family home for the last 12 years is officially sold,” Gorga posted to her Instagram account.

After moving into the home last November, Melissa took fans inside as she showed off her impeccably decorated office, which features built-in shelving and a large chandelier. When asked if the rumors she's faced with her husband have in any way made their bond more unbreakable, Melissa reflected, "I'm not going to say it strengthened it, but I will say, like, there's a lot of outside noise, especially on reality television." One of the first -- and most important -- destinations on the tour was Melissa's stunning, chic, glass-walled office space, which she said was "a must" when it came to designing the house. In addition to completing the dreamy outdoor area, Melissa and Joe have also recently made some interior changes. In March, Melissa revealed that she had replaced the black fabric chandeliers in the foyer with a new one made of brass and crystals. As Joe showed in his video, there is a grassy area with white pavers between the pool and the house, and one flight up is a covered porch with a mounted television and plenty of seating.

"However, we decided it was time for a change and we're excited to see where life brings us next." "Our family home for the last 12 years is officially sold," Melissa revealed on Instagram at the time, sharing a slideshow of photos of the property. On Part 1 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 reunion, which aired on May 30, Melissa Gorga shared that although her family had moved into their new home in November 2022, they were “still doing a lot of work to the outside” of the house. That presumably included the backyard and pool, which Joe Gorga revealed on June 14 are finally complete. Still, as with anyone buying, building, and selling real estate, there have been some hurdles.

Bravo fans trolled Melissa and Joe‘s poorly designed new home, and its multiple pointed roofs and lack of symmetry – and that was just their thoughts on the outside of the home. The Gorgas lived in a rental property while building their new home, which is located in Bergen County, New Jersey,  per BravoTV.com. Shortly after purchasing the Franklin Lakes home last summer, Melissa gave her fans a sneak peek at “day one” of their construction. "Got an architect. We designed [it] the way we wanted – exactly what Melissa wanted. 'I want a big closet. I want this, I want that, I want a big laundry room,' and here we go," Joe said. In July 2021, Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga, 42, gave BravoTV.com an inside look at the first day of the home's construction.

The RHONJ couple moved into their Franklin Lakes home last November; however, less than two months later, they were renovating the exterior of their home. For nearly a year, Bravo fans trolled Melissa and Joe Gorga‘s poorly designed home due to its multiple pointed roofs and lack of symmetry – and that was just their thoughts on the outside of the home. Melissa Gorga’s new house is located in Franklin Lakes, a borough that has historically housed many other cast members during the run of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Jacqueline Laurita, Kathy Wakile, and Caroline Manzo have all called Franklin Lakes home during their time on the show, which will enter its 13th season later this year. In June 2023, an upgraded exterior facade to the unique Gorga mansion was revealed via Melissa’s Instagram. The Gorga real estate empire has not been without a few controversies over the years.

In July 2021, the reality stars kicked off the first day of construction with BravoTV.com and explained their decision to demolish the existing home and build from the ground up. The finished interior is everything Melissa ever dreamed of — because she designed it herself, of course. "Big closet, big kitchen, that's all I asked for," she told BravoTV.com of the project.

Before moving back into the Montville pad, Melissa and Joe made some big changes. (Watch the video above for a look inside the updated kitchen.) "I did recently just do a whole renovation," she told E! No longer feeling the warm color palette with gold touches, Melissa opted for a brighter and airier aesthetic this time around. "I just came in and made everything white," she told the publication.
